Bismillahirrohmanirrohim.
This morning, on my way to workplace, I listened to a 'Motivasi Pagi' on Ikim.fm.
The Ustaz mentioned of being modern people nowadays, we tend to focus more on our work, our career, our money.
That we, unconciously focus less on what should be more important in our life.
*****
A dad went home. Feeling tired. His kid played around him, ask for this and that. Noisy. Messy. Whining non stop.
The father got upset. Got mad. Got angry. Because he is tired and he hoped that his child would understand him and give him some space to relax.
*****
That makes sense. Isnt it?
No it isnt.
As a parent, it is a responsibility to take care of the child. Parents sent the child to nursery or school for 2/3 of the day. And that leaves 1/3 balance of the day for parents to spend quality time with their child. Minus sleeping time, that leaves the parents about 1-2 hours a day to be spent with their child.
And we hope the child understand us and give us some space to relax on our own?
Thats not fair for the child.
They need attention as much as we need.
The same thing goes for people who is taking care of their parents; their old, weak and incapable parents.
They need our attention more than people in the office.
*****
That makes me think for a while.
What is the purpose of us working?
-To earn money of course.
-Money to feed the family of course.
But then, the long hours of work and stress and problems are not strengthening the family bonding.
It kills the family.
Nobody's happy when we got angry, stressed, tired, because of work everytime we went home.
Home is not a place for you to let your anger out.
Be fair.
And remind ourselves once again.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ME WORKING IF IT IS NOT MAKING MY LOVED ONES HAPPY?
